It has terrific bottom end that can fully scoop up the low notes, and fairly warm mids and highs. I'll agree there are amps available with slightly less grainy mids but I do not agree that Bryston's amps cannot be transparent.

WebGiven the fact that Bryston doesn't state to NOT use 4 ohm speakers and the design of the amp to supply lots of current, I think you will be quite safe in using a pair of 4 ohm speakers with this amplifier. I would however caution against using it in Bridged mode and running 4 ohm speakers. It will probably be fine, but better safe than sorry.
